Throughlines is an exhibition featuring works with a common black “throughline” in each piece. This black line references the written word on the page, as found in books. Works also include paper itself, or contain heavy usage of tan tones, similarly aimed at relating to old paper found in books. Through these themes, Throughlines connects to the neighboring exhibition, The Art of the Book, while also differing from it through its diversion from the traditional book form. The show features a collection of paintings, sculpture, and found objects, in a variety of mediums and styles. Despite these differences, the works are united through themes mentioned. Artists featured include Leslie Allen, Christian Burchard, Tim Craighead, Andrew Hayes, Marianne Kolb, Nancy Legge, Jenny Phillips, and Nick Taylor.
