Seager Gray Gallery is pleased to announce our exhibition for Wolfgang Bloch, “Paisajes Del Silencio” - Scenes of Silence. Bloch has an unerring instinct for capturing the meditative quality, that "stillpoint" that can come by simply sitting by the sea or walking on a mountain. In speaking of this exhibition, Bloch spoke about the “chatter” in his head and how being out in nature allowed him to overcome it. He consciously brings that stillness into the studio. “I am moving paint around and trying to get to that place where the quiet in my mind is reflected in the canvas. I stand back and look and it is always a surprise to me when it comes together. Somehow it involves finding the exact quality of light.”
