The Real World of Manuel Córdova,
A single, long poem printed from hand set Samson Uncial type onto kakishibu, a persimmon-washed handmade Japanese paper. The enclosure is from raw flax, lined with kakishibu on which is printed a map of the world, the first to show the world’s currents, drawn by Athanasius Kircher in 1665. The closure is goat skin and bone. 3.5 x 13.25 inches closed. Opens to 15 feet. Design, presswork, and binding by Carolee Campbell.
