In a library in Amsterdam, up many flights of stairs, is a quiet space by a window overlooking an inlet of water. Here a cache of atlases can be found and time slips away. This book comes from time with these atlases, and telescoped images of their Dutch maps dating to the age of exploration. Cartographical fragments join together in reflected forms and spellbinding tessellated patterns to create new landscapes of the imagination. Text includes Incantations for diverse journeys, Wayfarer Invocations of poetry and a story of a forgotten map opening to chance. Photographed, Illustrated, written, printed and bound by the artist.
Handbound, Letterpress and digital ink printed. Handbound with accordion & sewn binding. Hahnemuhle Ingres and Nepalese Lokta Silkscreened paper.
