Daniella Dooling’s FireNests are a détournement of abandoned, stolen and gifted bird nests. The bird nests made from a detritus of the natural and the human present are a representational dynamic of survival, an incompatible compatibility. Dooling’s elegant constructions reroute the nests physical narrative to speculate the specter of a present that is dedicated to past wildfires that have personally affected them, friends, family, and all of us.
