Edwards artist statement for being
Collaborating with Joe was a happy convergence with my love of drawing and painting and my extensive past work making furniture and sculpture with reclaimed wood, sticks and found objects. Wood is a powerful material as it holds the echo of its previous existence as a living being. Trees and plants are our most ancient ancestors and we carry them within us, sharing a substantial part of our DNA with them. The legacy of all our ancestors is inscribed in our cells.
