Statement:
I like to take a minimalist approach to my work, focusing on lines, shapes, textures, and patterns, and using simple tools I have on hand such as pencils, pens, some paper, and an X-Acto knife. I also use let- terpress printing, sewing, drawing, bookbinding, and writing. I am interested in themes of community, faith, and simplicity. I am inspired by spiritual practices, chance encounters, behind-the-scenes heroes, and unlikely connections. In particular, I explore ways that spirituality and faith intersect with daily life — this often takes form in everyday routines, ordinary objects, or in-between moments. These themes are presented in my most recent series on prayer — an exploration on what it means to listen, to pray, and to be human and alive.
